The US Embassy in Tanzania, in collaboration with the non-governmental organization Africraft, marked World Cleanup Day by organizing a beach cleaning event at Coco Beach, Dar es Salaam.
The cleanup activity took place this morning, September 21, and was led by US Ambassador to Tanzania, Michael Battle, alongside Africraft CEO, Kelvin Nicholaus.
During the event, Ambassador Battle reminded the community of the significance of the day, emphasizing the need for collective action against environmental pollution.
“World Cleanup Day is a call to action, and we all need to do our part throughout the year by striving to create a waste-free world,” said Ambassador Battle.
Environmental experts lauded the initiative, noting that it upholds key environmental conservation principles. They further stressed that environmental preservation is among the critical issues that should be prioritized in every community.
