The Vice President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Philip Mpango, alongside his spouse, Mrs. Mbonimpaye Mpango, joined worshippers in celebrating the Holy Mass for the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, and the New Year 2025.
The Mass took place at the Blessed Maria Theresa Ledochowska Catholic Parish, Kiwanja cha Ndege, in Dodoma Region.
Speaking after the Mass, the Vice President conveyed New Year wishes and blessings on behalf of President H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan and the government leadership.
He wished all Tanzanians a prosperous and peaceful year ahead.
Dr. Mpango urged all citizens, including religious leaders and congregants, to pray for the nation’s peace as it heads toward the General Elections later this year.
He highlighted the importance of electing leaders who are God-fearing, ethical, and committed to justice for all, especially the underprivileged.
He reminded everyone of their shared responsibility to uphold the nation’s peace.
He also called for prayers for global peace amidst ongoing conflicts in various parts of the world.
Furthermore, he encouraged prayers for Tanzanians facing challenges, expressing hope for better solutions to their hardships.
The Vice President advised citizens to make the most of 2025, particularly during the rainy season, by planting trees, flowers, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the country.
