Kilimanjaro— The Rural and Urban Roads Agency (Tarura) has completed the much-anticipated construction of Kisinane C Road, a crucial link in the Kilimanjaro region. Stretching 0.80 kilometers and newly paved with tarmac, the road fulfills a promise made by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan during her 2021 visit to the area.

This commitment was made on the 50th anniversary of the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre (KCMC), where Dr. Fredric Shoo, then head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Tanzania (ELCT) and Bishop of the Northern Diocese, highlighted the need for improved infrastructure in the area.

Residents and students of KCMC have expressed their satisfaction with the road’s completion, noting its impact on the community. The wide and smooth surface now allows for the quicker transport of patients, a significant benefit to the hospital's operations. Additionally, the installation of 26 streetlights along the road has boosted safety, particularly for students returning to their dormitories in the evening.

Tarura also implemented additional infrastructure enhancements this fiscal year, including water drainage channels and a large box culvert, to ensure the road’s durability and prevent flooding. The Kisinane C Road now provides a safer, more accessible route for the community, marking another step forward in the Kilimanjaro region's development.
