After thrashing Stand United 8-1 to secure a spot in the semifinals of the CRDB Federation Cup, Young Africans (Yanga) head coach Miloud Hamdi says the team has now shifted its full focus to their upcoming league fixture against Fountain Gate.
Yanga will face Fountain Gate in a highly anticipated NBC Premier League match on April 20 at the Tanzanite Kwaraa Stadium in Babati, Manyara Region.
Speaking yesterday, Coach Hamdi emphasized the importance of maintaining momentum in the league.
“Our job in the Federation Cup quarterfinal is done we’re in the semifinals,” said Hamdi. “Now my focus is fully on the Premier League match against Fountain Gate. The goal is to prepare well and win that game. The semifinal will come later.”
Hamdi also expressed his satisfaction with the players’ performance in the cup match, applauding their energy and commitment on the pitch.
“I’m happy with what the players delivered. They performed very well and deserved to advance to the next round,” he added.
Midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, who recently returned from injury, was one of the standout players. Hamdi noted that Aziz Ki had shown impressive form both in training and during the match.
