NCAA to launch new Safari Portal V2 for revenue collection

By Alfred Zacharia

The Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority (NCAA) has announced the official launch of its upgraded revenue collection system, Safari Portal V2, set to take effect on May 31, 2025.

Thienew platform aims to streamline operations and improve data management for all tourism-related transactions within the conservation area.

“NCAA is committed to enhancing transparency and efficiency in revenue collection. Safari Portal V2 is a significant step toward digitizing our services and ensuring smoother interactions with all stakeholders,” official statement by NCAA issued on May 23, 2025 says.

As part of the transition, all customer information currently stored in the existing system will be migrated to the new portal.

To ensure a seamless changeover, the NCAA has directed all clients to complete mandatory steps before May 28, 2025.

First, companies must verify the accuracy of their Tanzania Tourism Business Licence (TTBL) details with the Tourism Division (TALA). “Accurate licensing data is vital to comply with national tourism regulations and to maintain the integrity of operations within the Ngorongoro Conservation Area,” explained Ms. Asha Mwanga, Head of Licensing at TALA.

Additionally, all vehicles transporting tourists must be registered under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism (MNRT) Portal and comply with TTBL licensing requirements.

The NCAA has emphasized that only vehicles holding a valid TTBL licence will be accepted on the new system.

“We are enforcing strict compliance to promote legal and professional tourism services. This will also enhance safety and the overall experience for visitors,” noted the press statement.

Companies are also required to verify and update their registration information on the MNRT Portal.

This includes ensuring correct office addresses, company emails, telephone numbers, Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and VAT Registration Number (VRN) are current.

The introduction of Safari Portal V2 is part of NCAA’s broader initiative to modernize service delivery through digital solutions. This upgrade is expected to improve efficiency, transparency, and customer satisfaction.

For further clarification, stakeholders are encouraged to contact the NCAA customer service desk at +255 787 111 848.

“By adopting this new system, we aim to strengthen sustainable tourism management and ensure that revenue collection supports conservation efforts and benefits the local communities,” the statement says.
