Commissioner Wakulyamba calls for lawful conservation practices

Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism who doubles as Police Commissioner Benedict Wakulyamba has called for strict adherence to laws and regulations in conservation work.

Commissioner Wakulyamba made these remarks on September 1, 2024, during his visit to the Tanzania Wildlife ManagementAuthority (TAWA) headquarters in Morogoro where he engaged with staff, enhanced work efficiency, and inspected the facilities.

“Conservation officers must be familiar with all the laws governing conservation activities within their institutions and the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism,” he noted.

He also stressed the importance of understanding and complying with national laws, especially those related to evidence handling from arrest to court proceedings.

Commissioner Wakulyamba commended the officers for their dedication and urged them to continue their work with integrity.

During the visit, Commissioner Wakulyamba was joined by Police Superintendents Joseph Jingu and Oscar Felician, who provided special training to TAWA staff.
