CCM Secretary General Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi reaffirmed the government’s commitment to prioritizing international relations and diplomacy as pivotal tools for driving economic growth and development.

His declaration came yesterday, 19th September 2024, during high-level discussions with ambassadors from Brazil and India, as well as representatives from Mozambique's ruling party FRELIMO, and the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) in Tanzania.

Dr. Nchimbi emphasized that strong diplomatic ties are essential for fostering global cooperation, highlighting that one of the key goals in the CCM manifesto is to enhance international relations through the lens of economic diplomacy. This, he noted, is crucial for strengthening the nation’s economy, advancing development, and promoting leadership and democratic exchanges.

In a meeting with Brazilian Ambassador Gustavo Martins Nogueira, both leaders reiterated their mutual commitment to deepening the partnership between Tanzania and Brazil. They identified key areas for collaboration, including health, agriculture, and sports, as platforms for significant mutual benefit.

Similarly, discussions with Indian High Commissioner Bishwadip Dey centered on the strategic importance of continued technology, trade, and education cooperation. Dr. Nchimbi acknowledged India’s considerable advancements in these fields and emphasized the need to harness this partnership to further Tanzania’s development goals.

During talks with Alcinda Antonio de Abreu, Head of the International Relations Department of FRELIMO, both sides pledged to uphold the enduring friendship between Tanzania and Mozambique, a bond forged in the shared struggle for political liberation in Southern Africa. The focus of this partnership, however, has shifted to economic emancipation, with a shared vision of improving the livelihoods of their citizens.

In a separate meeting with Christian Denzin, Resident Director of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Dr. Nchimbi underscored the importance of continued collaboration in promoting leadership and democracy through capacity-building initiatives.

These meetings not only reinforce Tanzania's commitment to strengthening its global partnerships but also underline the nation’s strategic focus on diplomacy as a catalyst for economic transformation and sustainable development.
