TIC and UNCTAD convene stakeholders to boost investment in clean energy transition

The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC), in collaboration with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), convened energy stakeholders in Dar es Salaam on Thursday, September 19, 2024, to discuss investment opportunities and financing, to enhance the transition to clean energy in the country.

Speaking at the meeting, Zanzibar’s Permanent Secretary for the Ministry of Water, Energy, and Minerals, Mr. Joseph Kilangi, stated, "Our governments have focused on developing policies that encourage institutions and the private sector to enter the energy sector. Here, we have discussed funding access and the implementation of various strategic projects in the country."

Furthermore, TIC’s Chief Investment Officer, Dr. Daudi Biswalo, highlighted investment in the energy sector and the steps the government is taking to improve investor-friendly conditions and incentives for investment in the country.
