The Rural Energy Agency (REA) is set to participate in the third edition of the Samia Kilimo Biashara Expo 2024, scheduled to begin on October 6, 2024, in Gairo District, Morogoro Region.
Speaking at a meeting, the Director of Alternative and Renewable Energy Technologies, Ms. Advera Mwijage, emphasized that the event will provide an opportunity for the public to discuss the use of clean energy and carbon business opportunities. The Ministry of Energy, through REA, plans to distribute gas cylinders and efficient stoves to the public during the expo.
Gairo District Commissioner, Hon. Jabri Makame, highlighted that the community will witness significant environmental conservation efforts through the Clean Cooking Energy Initiative, championed by the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
He also mentioned that Gairo is actively implementing the "URITHI WA KIJANI" campaign, which aims to combat climate change challenges affecting the agriculture and livestock sectors.
The expo will bring together stakeholders involved in the energy, agriculture, and livestock sectors. Key participants include environmental organizations, gas companies, alternative charcoal producers like STAMICO, and government bodies such as the Vice President's Office (Union and Environment) and the Ministry of Energy.
