MP Mavunde unveils state-of-the-art sports facility at Kiwanja cha Ndege Secondary, empowering Dodoma’s future athletes

Hon. Anthony Mavunde, Member of Parliament for Dodoma Urban, has officially handed over a state-of-the-art sports facility to Kiwanja cha Ndege Secondary School in Dodoma, featuring courts for basketball, netball, and volleyball. 

The modern facility is set to inspire and develop the athletic talents of students in Dodoma, representing a significant enhancement to the school’s infrastructure.

During the ceremony, Mavunde extended his gratitude to President Dr. Samia S. Hassan for her commitment to advancing educational infrastructure nationwide, including upgrades at Kiwanja cha Ndege Secondary School. 

“In support of these efforts, I decided to build this modern sports ground at the school to help identify and nurture the talents of students in Dodoma," said Mavunde.

Dodoma District Commissioner Alhaj Jabir Shekimweri praised MP Mavunde’s dedication to the city’s progress, urging students to actively use the facility to strengthen their health, which in turn will help them avoid influences that could harm their values and well-being.

President of the Tanzania Basketball Federation (TBF), Michael Kadebe, applauded the initiative, noting that the facility expands the availability of basketball courts in Dodoma. 

He further announced plans to establish the MAVUNDE BASKETBALL ACADEMY at the school, aimed at furthering students' involvement and skills in the sport.

Ward Councilor Amos Mbaranga and School Board Chairman Bryson Lema expressed deep appreciation to MP Mavunde for the new facility. 

They highlighted that the addition not only transforms the school’s environment but also fosters the development of future athletes who may represent the nation. They pledged to preserve the facility, ensuring it serves both current students and future generations to come.
