Kikwete delivers special message from President Samia

 Algiers, March 26, 2025 – Former President of Tanzania,  Jakaya Mrisho Kikwete, has delivered a special message from Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, President of the United Republic of Tanzania, to  Abdelmadjid Tebboune, President of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria.

During their discussions, the two leaders extensively reviewed the long-standing and fraternal relationship between Tanzania and Algeria, emphasizing the solidarity and strong cooperation that has existed since the African liberation struggles and the founding of both nations.

 “Our nations share a deep-rooted bond that has withstood the test of time, from our joint efforts in the liberation struggles to our current diplomatic and economic cooperation,” President Kikwete remarked. They also explored ways to further strengthen diplomatic ties and collaboration in sectors such as trade, investment, education, health, and defense.

President Kikwete conveyed President Samia's intention to enhance cooperation between the two countries, stating, “President Samia’s vision is clear: to build a stronger partnership with Algeria that promotes economic growth, regional stability, and mutual development.”

 In turn, President Tebboune expressed his deep appreciation for the friendship between Tanzania and Algeria, saying, “We greatly value the bond with Tanzania and are committed to advancing our collaboration in areas of mutual interest, including trade, health, and education.”

Before their meeting, Former President Kikwete was received at the Algerian Presidency by  Ahmed Attaf, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs;  Abdelhak Saihi, Minister of Health; and the Secretary-General of the country, Boualem Boualem.
