Eight top-flight teams are set to battle it out tomorrow as the NBC Tanzania Premier League resumes with two crucial matches expected to shape the league standings.
In Dar es Salaam, Kinondoni Municipal Council (KMC) will host Dodoma Jiji at the KMC Complex, while in the southern highlands, Tanzania Prisons will lock horns with JKT Tanzania at Sokoine Stadium in Mbeya.
With each team fighting for crucial points either to climb up the table or avoid relegation, the matches are expected to be fiercely contested.
KMC Assistant Coach Steve Nyange expressed confidence in his side’s preparations, noting that the squad is ready and motivated to secure all three points on home turf.
“It’s going to be a tough game, but we are well-prepared. The boys are in good shape and showing a lot of energy,” Nyange said.
“We urge our fans, especially from Kinondoni, to come out in large numbers to support us. Their presence can really boost the players' morale.”
Nyange added that the team’s focus is on creating a safe position on the table to avoid the relegation zone or being dragged into the playoffs.
“Our target is clear—we want to steer away from danger and secure our place in the league for next season. Every point matters now,” he emphasized.
Meanwhile, JKT Tanzania’s head coach Mecky Mexime acknowledged the intensity of the upcoming clash against Tanzania Prisons, noting that the margin for error is becoming smaller as the season progresses.
“These matches are very competitive, and you must be sharp. A single win or loss can significantly change your standing,” said Mexime.
He pointed out that his team is targeting a top-five finish and believes they have what it takes to get there.
“We’ve come to strengthen our squad and push for better results. We’re aware of the strengths and weaknesses of our opponents. If we take our chances well, we’re confident we’ll walk away with the points,” he said.
As the league enters a critical phase, fans across the country will be watching closely as the two matchups could play a key role in shaping the title race, top-five ambitions, and relegation battles.
