Korosho Queens are determined to make a bold return to the volleyball court as they gear up for the 2025 Muungano Tournament, set to take place from April 22 to 26 at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) grounds.
The team’s manager, Hussein Kibombwe, told The Respondent Online that their main objective this year is to reach the finals and claim the championship title.
He expressed confidence in the team’s readiness and the progress they have made since their last appearance.
“In last year’s tournament, we only made it to the group stage. That experience taught us a lot. This year, we are coming back stronger, more focused, and with a clear goal to win,” Kibombwe said.
Korosho Queens have intensified their training sessions and made strategic improvements to their squad.
Among the new additions are two talented players from Kenya, expected to bring valuable experience and elevate the team’s performance.
“Our current squad is more balanced and competitive. The signings we’ve made have significantly boosted the team’s strength, and the chemistry among the players is encouraging,” he noted.
The team is scheduled to arrive in Dar es Salaam on April 20 to acclimatize and finalize preparations. They also plan to play a friendly match ahead of the tournament to sharpen their form and assess their tactical readiness.
Kibombwe also took the opportunity to thank the Cashew Board of Tanzania, the team’s main sponsor, for the continued support that has enabled them to prepare thoroughly.
“The Cashew Board has played a crucial role in our journey. Their support has covered our logistics, training, and welfare, allowing the players and technical staff to focus entirely on performance,” he said.
With a revitalized squad, solid technical support, and strong backing from sponsors, Korosho Queens are hopeful of making a lasting mark in this year’s Muungano tournament and bringing the championship trophy home.
