MNEC Hemed highlights development projects in Songea

By The Respondent Reporter

On the second day of his visit to Songea, Hemed Challe, a member of the Central Committee of the CCM National (MNEC) from the Ruvuma Region, continued his engagements with local residents and observed the successful implementation of various government-led development projects.

These initiatives, spearheaded under the leadership of the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), span several crucial sectors such as health, education, infrastructure, and other essential services that directly impact the lives of the people.

Speaking to residents from seven wards in Ruvuma Subira, Majengo, Mjini, Bombambili, Mfaranyaki, and Misufini MNEC Hemed highlighted how his visit had underscored the government’s commitment to fostering development through strategic investments in community welfare.

"These achievements are a testament to the unwavering dedication of the CCM government in bringing real development to the people. The substantial funds we direct towards social projects are ensuring that quality services reach every corner of our nation," MNEC Hemed remarked.

His words were a reflection of the tangible progress made in the region, with ongoing initiatives aimed at uplifting local communities.

Throughout his discussions, MNEC Hemed emphasized that CCM’s continued success is rooted in its adherence to democratic principles, a key factor that has maintained the party's strong relationship with the people.

"It is rare to see a party that fought for independence still in power today," he said, "but CCM has built its legacy on trust, by consistently responding to the needs and aspirations of Tanzanians."

His sentiments highlight the rare phenomenon of a liberation party that has successfully sustained its influence, unlike many others across the globe.

During his visits to the various wards, MNEC Hemed did not shy away from addressing the challenges faced by citizens.

He acknowledged that not all issues can be resolved at once but reassured the public that the government, through CCM, would continue to address them gradually.

"The Ruvuma Health Center is a prime example of our progress," he noted. "Previously, the people lacked access to health services, but now, they can receive care right here in their own community, easing the burden on them."

He also took the opportunity to remind citizens that leadership positions are not permanent. "Every citizen has the constitutional right to run for office," MNEC Hemed said, encouraging capable individuals to step forward when the time comes for elections.

"If you believe you have the potential to lead, the opportunity is open for you to seek nomination for councilor or parliamentary positions."

To further show his commitment to local development, MNEC Hemed generously donated a total of 3 million shillings to support ongoing efforts in the region.

This included 1 million shillings for the construction of the CCM office in the Ruvuma Ward, another 1 million for the CCM office in Misufini, and an additional 1 million for furniture in the CCM office in Bombambili.

He also donated 50 kilograms of sugar to the Parents' Community in Subira Ward (Liwena Street), construction materials for the CCM branch office in Mahenge (Mjini Ward), and football kits and balls for UVCCM across all seven wards he visited.

James Mgego, the CCM Secretary for Songea Urban District, expressed his gratitude towards MNEC Hemed for the success of his visit.

"The reception from both the party and the citizens has been overwhelmingly positive," Mgego said. "It is clear that there is strong solidarity and trust in CCM and its leadership."

He also assured the public that CCM Songea Urban would uphold fairness and transparency during the upcoming election process.

MNEC Hemed’s visit began in Nyasa District, continued through Mbinga Town and Mbinga Rural, and finally reached Songea.

So far, approximately 13 wards have been visited, with plans to complete the tour by visiting the remaining areas tomorrow, April 28, in accordance with the geographical layout of the region.
