The final showdown of the 2025 Muungano Cup is set to take place tomorrow at the Gombani Stadium in Pemba, Zanzibar, where this year’s champion will finally be crowned.
The highly anticipated match will feature JKU taking on Yanga in what promises to be a thrilling contest.
JKU booked their place in the final after a hard-fought victory over Azam, while Yanga secured their spot by defeating Zimamoto in the semifinals.
Speaking on April 30 during their final training session ahead of the big game, JKU Head Coach Hajji Nuhu acknowledged the challenge ahead, describing the match as a tough battle.
“We know we’re going up against a strong team a champion. We need to be well-prepared and disciplined,” said Nuhu.
“It’s important to understand their strengths so we can counter them effectively. At the same time, we must identify and exploit their weaknesses. That’s where I’m focusing all my attention.”
JKU midfielder Fredy Selemani expressed confidence in his teammates’ readiness, highlighting the importance of the match and the collective spirit within the squad.
“Everyone understands how important this final is. The motivation is high, and we’re fully prepared,” he said. “Whoever gets the opportunity to play will give their all to help the team secure a positive result.”
