By Charles Mkoka

Singida, Tanzania — The Secretary of the Tanzania Women’s Union (UWT) for Singida Region, Ms. Naomi Daudi, has commended the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) for its adoption of innovative construction methods using stone and burnt brick materials.

Speaking after touring TARURA’s pavilion at the ongoing National Occupational Safety and Health commemorations at Mandewa Grounds in Singida, Ms. Daudi expressed her admiration for the agency's cost-effective approach.

“What impressed me the most is the shift towards using stone and burnt bricks, which significantly lowers construction costs,” she said.

She further emphasized that the innovation will not only help reduce government spending but also accelerate the implementation of future infrastructure projects.

Ms. Daudi also extended her appreciation to the Sixth Phase Government, under the leadership of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for increasing TARURA’s budget.

She noted that the expanded funding has improved operational efficiency, opened up new road networks, and facilitated the construction of numerous bridges and crossings nationwide.

Echoing her remarks, Mr. Felix Mwaituka, a Senior Technician at TARURA Singida District, highlighted that the use of stone and brick technology has played a crucial role in minimizing construction expenses while maintaining quality and durability.
