Prominent businessman and development advocate in Vunjo Constituency, Enock Zadock Koola, has called on young people to turn out in large numbers to register and update their information in the Permanent Voters’ Register to ensure they exercise their constitutional right to elect leaders of their choice.
Koola made the statement on May 17, 2025, after updating his voter information at a registration center located at Mahakamani, Kiruweni Village, Kiruweni Kati sub-village, in Mwika Kusini Ward, Moshi District, Kilimanjaro Region—his hometown.
Speaking after the registration, Koola emphasized that it is every citizen’s responsibility, especially the youth, to take part in this crucial exercise in order to fully participate in the upcoming general election.
“It is important for every young person to ensure they are listed in the voter register. Your vote is your voice. Let’s not lose this fundamental right due to negligence or indifference,” Koola stressed.
He also urged motorcycle taxi riders (bodaboda) and other youth groups—who are often directly affected by political decisions—to seize this opportunity and register to be part of the change they wish to see.
Additionally, Koola underscored that the exercise is not a political act, but a social and developmental one, as it shapes the country's future.
He pointed out that good leaders can only be elected through voting, hence every citizen must take the first step by ensuring they are eligible to vote.
“The change we are fighting for cannot be achieved without taking foundational steps such as this. And the very first step is registering,” he added.
Koola concluded by urging leaders in various areas to continue mobilizing citizens, especially the youth, to actively engage in the registration process as a way of safeguarding democratic values.
