Dodoma– The President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, has announced a series of strategic leadership appointments aimed at strengthening public service delivery and enhancing institutional performance across key sectors.
The appointments were detailed in a statement issued by the Chief Secretary, Ambassador Dr. Moses Kusiluka.
Professor Tumaini Nagu has been appointed as the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the President’s Office, Regional Administration and Local Government (TAMISEMI), with responsibility for health matters.
Her experience in the health sector is expected to bolster the government’s ongoing efforts to improve healthcare services at the regional and local levels.
Dr. Blandina Kilama has been named Deputy Executive Secretary of the Planning Commission, where she will oversee business and innovation initiatives. She replaces Dr. Lorah Madete, whose appointment has been revoked and who will be assigned new duties.
Dr. Kilama’s appointment is anticipated to bring fresh perspectives to Tanzania’s economic planning and innovation strategies.
In the corporate sector, Ambassador George Kahema Madafa has been appointed Chairman of the Board of Puma Energy Tanzania Company, succeeding Dr. Majige Budeba, whose term has concluded.
Additionally, several board chairpersons have been reappointed for second terms, reflecting confidence in their leadership.
Mr. Jacob Jail Kibona continues as Chairman of the Board of the Procurement and Supplies Professionals and Technical Board (PSPTB), Retired Major General John Julius Mbungo remains Chairman of the Board of the Tanzania Ports Corporation (TASHICO), and Mr. Mussa Hamza Mandia retains his role as Chairman of the Board of the Tanzania Shipping Agencies Corporation (TASAC).
The swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary and Deputy Executive Secretary will be announced at a later date.
