Residents of Nkasi District have commended the Government, through the Ministry of Health, for meeting their healthcare needs by deploying a team of specialist doctors under the directive of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Speaking on May 22, 2025, at the Nkasi District Hospital, where the President’s specialist medical team had set up a temporary outreach camp, residents expressed deep appreciation for the initiative.
Many noted that the program not only addressed their specific health concerns but also demonstrated a high level of community engagement and responsiveness.
“I was truly inspired when I heard about the outstanding reputation of these doctors. I had always wished to be treated by medical specialists, and today that dream has come true,” said Ms.
Esther Mvuna, a resident of Msukumilo Hamlet and one of the beneficiaries of the outreach services.
Beyond the quality of care received, residents praised the effective communication strategy that ensured widespread awareness about the medical camp’s arrival, allowing many to benefit.
“We are very grateful to our local leaders and district officials who worked tirelessly to spread the word. Their efforts ensured that no one was left behind, which is why you see such a strong turnout,” said Mr. Sharifu Kisi, a resident of Sintali Ward.
Dr. Thomasi Ndeule, Acting Medical Officer in Charge at Nkasi District Hospital, highlighted the overwhelming community response, attributing it to the well-coordinated publicity efforts and the clear demand for specialized healthcare services.
“We sincerely thank Her Excellency President Samia and her responsive government for bringing these essential services directly to the people. Without this initiative, many would have had to travel all the way to Mbeya Zonal Hospital to receive the same care,” said Dr. Ndeule.
This initiative reflects the government’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare, especially in underserved and remote areas.
