By Our Correspondent

The Chairperson of the ruling CCM party and President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has accepted the resignation of Mr. Abdulrahman Kinana, the party's Vice Chairman for Tanzania Mainland.

Kinana was appointed CCM vice chairperson in April 2022, succeeding Philip Mangula.

A statement issued on July 29, 2024 by the Party's Secretary for Ideology, Publicity and Training Mr Amos Makala says the President Hassan would have liked Kinana to continue with the position, but he had asked the president for the resignation a long time ago to give him space for resting.

"When I initially requested you to take up the position, I promised that you would stay in that position for a short time and I actually wished you could stay on longer but since you have insisted on on leaving, I have accepted your resignation with a heavy heart" Dr. Samia noted in the statement.

The statement further insisted that the party would continue to utilize Mr.Kinana's immense experience and thanked him for his contribution in the development of the party".
