The Tanzania Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (TEITI) has held its 94th Board Committee meeting to review the implementation of its activities aimed at promoting transparency and accountability in the management of mineral, oil, and natural gas resources.
The meeting was attended by Committee members and the Secretariat, with the main agenda being the review and approval of the draft of TEITI’s 15th Report for the 2022/2023 financial year. The report is required to be published and disclosed before June 30, 2025.
The session was chaired by CPA Ludovick Utouh, who emphasized the need to ensure the effective and timely completion of the report’s preparation to enable TEITI to fulfill its mandate in line with the established guidelines on transparency and accountability in the extractive sector.
In a separate moment during the meeting, Chairman Utouh took the opportunity to thank and bid farewell to Committee members and the TEITI Secretariat, as he concludes his tenure after serving two consecutive terms, totaling six years.
CPA Utouh expressed his gratitude to the Sixth Phase Government, particularly the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, H.E. Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for trusting him with the responsibility of leading TEITI as Committee Chair.
“In the past six years, TEITI has made significant progress in its performance,” said CPA Utouh, encouraging the institution’s staff and board members to continue working with dedication and not to relent in their efforts.
He added that the Sixth Phase Government, led by President Samia, is attentive and ready to support TEITI in achieving its objectives for the benefit of the nation. CPA Utouh served as Chair of TEITI from 2018 to May 2025.

On behalf of other board members, Mr. Johnbosco Tindyebwa expressed gratitude to the Chair for his exemplary leadership, which ensured that TEITI’s activities were executed effectively.
The Executive Secretary of TEITI, Ms. Mariam Mgaya, also thanked CPA Utouh for his transformative leadership, which brought substantial changes to the institution’s operations in line with the international standards of the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI).
Ms. Mariam stated, “Mr. Utouh has been an outstanding leader, and I thank the Honorable President for placing trust in him to serve TEITI from 2018 to May 2025. I wish him good health and success in his daily responsibilities.”
