The first match of 2024/25 Premier League season between Pamba FC against Tanzania Prisons has elapsed in a goalless draw.
The two teams rocked horns at CCM Kirumba Stadium in Mwanza on Friday afternoon battling for maximum points in the league.
Despite promising attempts from either side to make a breakthrough, none of them managed to put the ball behind the net enabling the hot game to finish without goals.
Pamba who were making their maiden appearance in the league after earning promotion from the Championship League had full backing from their Mwanza fans.
They were all smiles to witness their team resurfacing in the top flight league after a long period of time but their celebrations were not complete as they could not cherish a scored goal.
Following the barren draw, it means the football fraternity still awaits for a player to score the first league goal of the campaign who will set up his own record.
Tomorrow, two league matches will unfold as Mashujaa FC welcome Dodoma Jiji at Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma while Namungo entertain Fountain Gate Majaliwa Stadium in Lindi.
