The
Tanzania Rural and Urban Roads Agency (TARURA) has built a bridge connecting
the Ndala and Kambarage Wards in Shinyanga Municipality.
For a long
time, these two wards were separated by a river, making daily life difficult
for residents.
Hon. Zamda
Shaban, the Ward Councilor of Ndala, spoke about the positive impact of the
bridge.
“In the
past, we had many challenges because there was no crossing. People from Ndala
had a hard time reaching Kambarage, and the same for those from Kambarage,” she
said.
She
explained that the bridge has been especially helpful for school children.
“Before
the bridge, children had to cross the river to get to school. During the dry
season, it was a bit easier, but in the rainy season, the area was impossible
to cross, forcing people to take long detours,” she added.
The bridge
has also made it easier for Ndala residents to access important services like
health clinics and markets, which are mostly in Kambarage Ward.
Ustadhi
Rashidi Muhimbe, a local resident, thanked the government for the bridge.
“Before
the bridge, it was very difficult, especially for getting people to attend our
mosques. Now, attendance has greatly improved,” he said.
The new
bridge has made communication easier and has helped develop the communities of
Ndala and Kambarage.
