Azam outclass KMC in a four-goal thriller

By Our Special Correspondent

Azam produced a thrilling 4-0 win over KMC to grab first maximum Premier League points of the season at KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam on Thursday.

Idd Nado, Lusajo Mwaikenda and Nassor Saadun and an own goal by Fredy Tangalo were enough to award the visitors a crucial away win against one of the best teams in the league.

It was a good reaction from the Chamazi based outfits as they went win-less in their opening two fixtures of the campaign following barren draws against JKT Tanzania and Pamba Jiji respectively.

Also, the sweet victory is a befitting reception of the team's newly hired coach Rachid Taoussi who was all smiles after the match in recognition of the tangible result.

His debut league match at the club elapsed goalless against Pamba Jiji and he vowed in a post game interview to work hard on improving the team's scoring efficiency which has paid off.

For KMC, it was their second defeat of the season and they missed the opportunity to use well home venue advantage hence conceding the big upset.

They were able to create some scoring chances during the clash but could not turn them into goals until the final whistle sounded to end the duel.

Up next, Azam will host Simba in a dubbed 'Mzizima Derby' at Benjamin Mkapa Stadium in Dar es Salaam on September 26th.
