Dar es Salaam– The Tanzania Investment Centre (TIC) has participated in the launch of the BFG Africa Rail "Showroom" project in Mikocheni, Dar es Salaam. BFG Africa is a subsidiary of BFG International, a global leader based in Bahrain, with operations across Africa.
Through this new branch, BFG Africa Rail will focus on designing and manufacturing composite materials used in various sectors, including interior fittings for aircraft, train carriages, and wind turbine blades for renewable energy production.
For over 40 years, BFG International has been a global pioneer in composite design, engineering, and manufacturing, employing over 2,000 people and operating 15 production facilities worldwide. The company plans to expand its product range in transportation, industrial manufacturing, marine engineering, and design as part of its second phase of development.
The event was officiated by Professor Kitila Mkumbo, Minister of State in the President’s Office (Planning and Investment), and attended by various dignitaries, including South African Ambassador to Tanzania, H.E. Noluthando Mayende-Malepe.
TIC was represented by Mr. Daudi Riganda, Manager of Foreign Investment Promotion, underscoring Tanzania’s commitment to fostering international investments in key sectors. The launch marks a significant milestone in advancing the country's industrial and technological landscape.
