The Dar es Salaam First Division Basketball League has entered a thrilling phase, with teams fiercely competing for the chance to move up to next season's regional league.
As the season heads into its final stretch, every team is pushing hard for results that will guarantee them a place in the promotion spots.
The competition is becoming increasingly intense.
At the top of the standings, Polisi leads with 26 points from 13 games, while Stein Warriors follows closely behind with 23 points from 12 matches.
Kurasini Heat, Mbezi Beach, and Chang'ombe are all tied with 23 points, having played 13 games each, but their rankings differ based on basket points.
In an interview with The Respondent Online, Haleluya Kavalambi, the Technical and Competitions Director for the Dar es Salaam Basketball Association (DB), highlighted the fierce competition among the teams.
"The level of competition this year is extremely high. Looking at the standings, we see that teams are tied on points, making it difficult to predict who will secure a promotion spot.
With just a few games left, the race for second to fourth place is particularly tight," Kavalambi said.
As the league heads toward its conclusion, the fight for supremacy is more exciting than ever, with every match becoming crucial for teams vying for a chance to compete in next season's regional league
