Tanzania’s U17 Girls' Development Squad (TDS) is intensifying preparations for the CAF Girls' Integrated Football Tournament (GIFT), set to take place from January 7 to 18 at the Azam Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The team is holding training sessions at the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) Technical Center in Kigamboni District as they aim to fine-tune their skills ahead of the competition.
A statement from CAF’s Media Department confirms that eight teams from the CECAFA region will participate in the tournament.
The event is designed to empower young female players, promote gender equality in football, and highlight the potential of girls’ football across Africa.
The tournament serves as a platform to create equal opportunities for the next generation of female footballers, increase participation among young girls, and encourage investment in U17 girls' clubs and leagues.
