Ambassador Nchimbi raises TZS 950 million for children's treatment

CCM Secretary-General, Ambassador Dr. Emmanuel John Nchimbi, has helped raise TZS 950 million to support the treatment of around 400 children with clubfoot.

The funds were collected through pledges from various supporters during a special fundraising iftar event held on March 14, 2025, at Super Dome Hall in Dar es Salaam. The event aimed to raise TZS 600 million for the treatment program.

Speaking as the guest of honor, Ambassador Nchimbi said the initiative supports President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan’s efforts to improve healthcare in Tanzania.

"A few days ago, President Samia received an international award for her efforts in reducing maternal and child deaths. She is the first African president to receive this honor," he said.

"This event shows our support for the incredible work she is doing, which has gained international recognition," he added.

Ambassador Nchimbi also shared that after informing President Samia about the fundraiser—organized by the GSM Foundation in partnership with the Ministry of Health, Yanga Sports Club, and CCBRT Hospital—she directed CCM to contribute TZS 50 million towards the cause.
