Tanzania’s U17 women’s team, Serengeti Girls, is out of the race for the 2026 FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup after losing to Zambia.
Tanzania was beaten 1-0 by Zambia in the second-leg match played today, March 15, 2025, at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, Zambia.
The only goal of the match was scored by Natasha Nkaka in the 53rd minute, securing Zambia’s place in the next round.
Zambia, known as The Copper Princesses, will now face either DR Congo or Benin in the third round of the qualifiers.
The final tournament will be held in Morocco from October 17 to November 8, 2026.
Tanzania had already lost the first leg 3-0 at home, making Zambia’s total win 4-0 over both matches.
In the first leg, Zambia's goals came from Grace Phiri in the 65th minute, Mercy Chipasula in the 80th minute, and a penalty goal in the 89th minute.
