The Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma, has urged the people of Singida to recognize their role in preserving infrastructure and ensuring it remains in excellent condition.
Mwinjuma made this statement today, March 24, 2025, during the inauguration of the Airtel Stadium in the Mtipa area of Singida Region.
He emphasized that the primary objective is to maintain the stadium’s high standards, enabling it to host the NBC Premier League and other major events.
"I would like to commend the Member of Parliament for his efforts in securing support from various stakeholders and donors who contributed to completing this stadium. This will help in developing a competitive team that, one day, may emerge as champions," said Mwinjuma.
He also highlighted that the stadium, now one of the best in the country, reflects the seriousness of the initiative.
Mwinjuma encouraged the team to inspire smaller clubs to achieve good results, as they too have the potential for success.
Regarding the stadium’s completion, he noted that the stands are the next priority, and their visibility will motivate stakeholders to get involved, offering their support to the ongoing development.
Festo Sanga, a member of the Singida Black Stars Board of Directors, shared that the playing area has been completed to 100%.
However, he mentioned that work on the stands is still ongoing, urging stakeholders to continue their support to ensure the successful completion of this section.
"This Airtel Stadium project has been made possible through the collaboration of several partners, including Mo Dewji, NBC, Azam, and Airtel.
This collaboration demonstrates our determination to revolutionize football," said Sanga.
He further assured that the team is committed to finishing in the top four, with the aim of representing the nation internationally.
