Simba's squad is scheduled to depart Tanzania in the early hours of March 28, 2025, bound for Egypt for their quarterfinal clash in the CAF Confederation Cup, which will take place on April 2, 2025.
"The team will travel to Egypt aboard Egypt Air, with the players who were part of the Taifa Stars squad joining the team once they arrive in Egypt," said Ahmed Ally, Simba's Public Relations and Communications Manager, in a statement on March 26, 2025.
He confirmed that Camara and Mukwala have already arrived in Tanzania and will join their teammates for final travel preparations.
"Every Simba fan should understand that while we have our plans in place, we must remain focused and prepared, especially since we are facing a team from Egypt. If you look at the African competitions, Egypt is the country that has the most representation in the quarterfinals, with four teams qualifying."
Ally acknowledged that the upcoming match against Al Masry will be challenging, but emphasized that the team's goal is to advance to the semifinals.
"I want to reassure our supporters that Benjamin Mkapa Stadium has already undergone an inspection. Although the results are yet to be released, the initial discussions indicate that significant improvements have been made to the stadium since the last inspection. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that the match will be played there," Ally explained.
Additionally, he shared that they are in the final stages of setting up a big screen for the game, which will be held in Egypt, and more details will be provided once everything is ready.
