The highly anticipated Union Volleyball Championship is set to take place from April 22 to 26 at the University of Dar es Salaam (UDSM) grounds.

Following last year’s electrifying tournament in Zanzibar, the action now shifts to the mainland, promising yet another thrilling showdown.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Tanzania Volleyball Federation (TVF) Information Officer Kepha Malecela confirmed that preparations are in full swing, with invitations already sent out to all teams.

"Teams are currently confirming their participation and completing the registration process, which requires a fee of TZS 250,000 per team for both men’s and women’s categories," Malecela stated.

He further explained that any team registered with the federation is eligible to compete. "The fee stands at TZS 250,000 per team.

If a club registers two teams, the total fee will be TZS 500,000. The tournament will bring together teams from both Zanzibar and the mainland, ensuring high-level competition," he added.

Malecela emphasized that the championship provides a platform for teams to demonstrate their skills, resilience, and mastery of the game.

In addition to the tournament, TVF has organized a specialized training course aimed at sharpening referees' skills, refreshing their knowledge, and evaluating their performance.

"We are leveraging the Union Championship as an opportunity to enhance the expertise of our referees and assess their capabilities," Malecela noted.
