Wazazi-CCM has emerged as the dominant force within the ruling party’s wings, outpacing Umoja wa Vijana wa CCM (UVCCM) and Umoja wa Wanawake wa Tanzania (UWT) in championing the achievements of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan.
This momentum was on full display at a grand conference held at the Arusha International Conference Centre on March 24, 2025, where national leaders, sectoral heads, and party officials gathered to celebrate and reinforce the transformative agenda of President Samia’s administration.
The high-profile event attracted top government and party figures, including Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Energy, Hon. Dotto Biteko, who serves on the NEC through Wazazi.
Also in attendance were Professor Palamagamba Kabudi, Tanzania Railways Corporation Director General Masanja Kadogosa, officials from the Tanzania Ports Authority, and executives from the Tanzania Investment Centre.
Each of them presented on their respective sectors, painting a picture of a government that has not only stabilized the economy but also set Tanzania on an irreversible path to growth. Moderated by Ayubu Ryoba, the event was broadcast live on TBC and multiple social media platforms, ensuring nationwide engagement.
Professor Kabudi delivered a powerful address linking President Samia’s leadership to the visionary foundation laid by Mwalimu Julius Nyerere.
He shared an unpublished work written by Nyerere 81 years ago at Makerere University, where the Father of the Nation acknowledged the equal leadership capabilities of women—an affirmation that resonates deeply with President Samia’s tenure.
Kabudi spoke passionately about Tanzania’s core values of Ujamaa and self-reliance, drawing comparisons to other failed union attempts in Africa, and emphasized that under Samia, the country remains rooted in Nyerere’s principles of unity and equality.
The Tanzania Investment Centre reported a surge in investment projects, a testament to growing confidence in the country’s economic direction.
Meanwhile, TRC’s Masanja Kadogosa provided updates on the Standard Gauge Railway, a game-changer for trade and transport across East Africa.
The Tanzania Ports Authority highlighted the ongoing expansion of the Dar es Salaam, Mtwara, and Tanga ports, positioning Tanzania as a regional trade powerhouse.
When Wazazi-CCM General Secretary Ally Hapi took the stage, he underscored the government’s remarkable achievements in healthcare.
He detailed how the administration has prioritized maternal and child health, earning Tanzania international recognition for significantly reducing mortality rates.
Over 200 new maternity wards have been built, medical equipment has been upgraded, and thousands of healthcare workers have been trained.
Under President Samia’s leadership, 71 district hospitals, 487 health centers, and 1,198 dispensaries have been constructed, bringing quality healthcare closer to Tanzanians, especially in rural areas.
CCM Deputy Secretary General John Mongella, representing party Secretary General Dr. Emmanuel Nchimbi, applauded Wazazi-CCM for its unmatched dedication and visibility.
He acknowledged that under the leadership of Rajab Maganya, the wing has become the party’s most effective mobilization force.
Issa Gavu, CCM’s Director of Organization, echoed this sentiment, commending Wazazi-CCM’s teamwork and outlining recent party constitution reforms designed to expand the party’s electorate. He also reaffirmed the decision of the National Congress to nominate President Samia as CCM’s presidential candidate for the upcoming election.
The conference culminated in a strong resolution from Wazazi-CCM, formally congratulating President Samia for her bold leadership and transformative policies across infrastructure, healthcare, education, energy, and the economy.
The wing pledged its full support for her re-election in 2025, vowing to mobilize nationwide support to secure a resounding victory for CCM.
With its aggressive advocacy and strategic outreach, Wazazi-CCM has cemented itself as the ruling party’s most dynamic wing, setting the pace for the 2025 general elections.
The energy and enthusiasm displayed in Arusha signaled not only a bright future for CCM but also a clear path forward for President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s continued leadership.
