Hausung to face gunners in league final

By Victoria Godfrey

Hausung Football Club is gearing up for a highly anticipated clash against Gunners FC in the final of the First League, scheduled for April 5, 2025, at the Azam Complex in Chamazi, Dar es Salaam.

Both teams have impressed throughout the season, finishing top of their respective groups and earning automatic promotion to the NBC Championship League for the 2025/2026 season.

Now, all eyes will be on the final showdown as the two sides battle for the ultimate crown of the 2024/2025 First League season.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Hausung's Secretary, Olena Longo, expressed confidence in his team's preparations and emphasized their determination to clinch the title.

“Our preparations have gone smoothly, and the squad is in high spirits,” said Olena. “We are thankful to have arrived safely in Dar es Salaam, and the team is ready to give it their all in tomorrow’s match.”

Olena highlighted the importance of the final not just as a title decider, but as a matter of pride and reward for their loyal supporters back home in Njombe.

“This match means a lot to us. We’re not just playing for the trophy, we’re playing for our people,” he said. “We promise our fans a fight of blood and sweat. The boys are fully committed to returning home with the championship.”

Interestingly, this isn’t the first time the two teams have met on a big stage. Hausung and Gunners previously clashed in the finals of the Regional Champions League (RCL), a match that has only intensified the rivalry between them.

“This is a rematch in every sense,” Olena added. “We’ve faced Gunners before in the RCL final, and we know what to expect. Our players are more focused than ever.”

With the stage set and stakes high, fans can expect an electrifying contest at Chamazi. Whether it's redemption or repeat, Saturday's final promises to be one for the books.
