Tanzania’s football scene is buzzing with excitement as Deputy Minister for Information, Culture, Arts, and Sports, Hamis Mwinjuma, boldly declares that Simba SC has a real shot at lifting the CAF Confederation Cup trophy this year!
Simba made it to the final in spectacular fashion, first winning 1-0 at home and then holding their ground with a 0-0 draw away, pushing them forward into the final showdown. Now, all eyes are on the upcoming match against Morocco's RS Berkane.
The first leg of the final kicks off on May 17 in Morocco, with Simba returning to Tanzania for the thrilling second leg on May 25. It’s set to be a showdown that will go down in history!
In a passionate statement from South Africa, Mwinjuma encouraged all Tanzanians to unite and rally behind Simba. He knows the weight of this moment: "This is our chance to make history—something that can never be erased. Let’s celebrate this moment and support our team with all we’ve got!"
Mwinjuma also praised the achievement, saying, “Now, we’re not just participating in international football; we’re here to compete at the top level, and Simba is showing the world what Tanzania is made of.”
Simba’s Manager, Patrick Rweyemamu, echoed Mwinjuma’s sentiment, expressing his confidence that the team is ready for the challenge. “We’re focused on doing our best in the final. Winning the trophy is the ultimate goal, but we’ll take it one match at a time. Every player has given their all to get us to this point,” said Rweyemamu.
With Simba’s supporters fired up and the team gearing up for what promises to be an epic final, the dream of continental glory is within reach. Can Simba do it? Only time will tell, but one thing’s for sure: Tanzania is ready for history!
