Premier League Matches Set for Tomorrow

By Flora Mkoloma

Football fans across Tanzania are in for a thrilling treat tomorrow as eight teams prepare to lock horns in the ongoing NBC Tanzania Premier League.

The matches will take place at different venues nationwide, with each club fighting for vital points as the race for top positions and survival intensifies.

One of the headline fixtures will see Singida Black Stars host Azam FC at the CCM Liti Stadium in Singida.

Both sides are riding high on confidence after recording victories in their previous matches. Singida Black Stars cruised to a commanding 3-0 win over Fountain Gate, while Azam comfortably beat Kengold 2-0.

With both teams eager to maintain their winning momentum, fans can expect an action-packed showdown.

Meanwhile in Dodoma, Dodoma Jiji will take on struggling Kengold at the Jamhuri Stadium. Dodoma Jiji comes into the fixture with a point from their last game, while Kengold, currently languishing near the bottom of the table, are in desperate need of a turnaround.

The match promises to be a fierce battle, especially for Kengold, who are "breathing through a machine" in terms of form and standings.

In Lindi Region, Namungo FC will square off against KMC at the Majaliwa Stadium. Both clubs are targeting a much-needed win to improve their standings and strengthen their chances of finishing the season in a respectable position.

With each side determined to come out on top, the match could go down to the wire.

Down south in Mbeya, Tanzania Prisons will host Kagera Sugar at Sokoine Stadium. Prisons are in a precarious position following a disappointing loss in their last outing and are in urgent need of points to move away from the relegation zone. On the other hand, Kagera Sugar, who have managed five wins so far, are still looking to find consistent form.

Speaking to reporters ahead of the match, Tanzania Prisons Head Coach Amani Josia expressed confidence in his squad’s readiness.

“Our preparations are going well. We’re set to conduct our final training session today. Thankfully, we have no injury concerns,” he said.

Josia acknowledged the challenge posed by their opponents: “Kagera Sugar is a solid team and hasn’t lost a game since Coach Juma Kaseja took charge. But the fight at the bottom of the table is intense. Our rivals are four points ahead of us, so we must give everything to close the gap.”

As the league action resumes, all eyes will be on these clashes, with fans eager to see how the table shifts after tomorrow’s encounters.
