Iringa— In a rallying call to action, the Chief Executive Officer of the Rural and Urban Roads Agency (Tarura), Engineer Seff, on April 4, 2025, urged employees to channel their efforts into one core mission: serving the people.
Speaking at the opening of the Tarura Workers’ Council meeting held at Masiti Hall in Iringa, Eng. Seff emphasized the need for professionalism, teamwork, and dedication. “When we work together—guided by integrity and purpose—we not only improve our performance but also strengthen the public’s trust in us,” he said.
His remarks came as Tarura staff from across the region gathered to reflect on their progress, set new goals, and shape the way forward for one of Tanzania’s most vital infrastructure agencies.
In a pledge that drew a round of applause, Eng. Seff promised to personally oversee the implementation of all resolutions arising from the meeting, underlining his commitment to accountability and tangible results.
Adding to the spirit of collaboration, Mr. Mudathiri Ismail, representing the Secretary General of TUGHE, commended Tarura for its proactive approach in employee development. He highlighted the agency’s recent investment-focused trainings as a strong step toward empowering its workforce and, by extension, the communities they serve.
“Council members have a responsibility to offer strategic and honest feedback to management,” Mr. Ismail said. “That’s how Tarura continues to evolve and respond to the needs of ordinary citizens.”
Meanwhile, Ms. Eunice Tesha, representing the Labour Commissioner from the Prime Minister’s Office – Labour, Youth, Employment, and Persons with Disabilities, praised the agency’s inclusive culture. She noted that the meeting was more than a formality—it was a platform for genuine dialogue and decision-making.
“It’s encouraging to see how Tarura values openness. This is a space where every voice counts, and that’s rare,” Ms. Tesha observed.
From the tone and energy in the room, it’s clear that Tarura is not just building roads—it’s building a culture of service, inclusion, and accountability.
