The Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) Dar es Salaam Regional Political Committee, led by Regional Chairperson  Abbas Mtemvu, on May 7, 2025, visited and inspected key development projects in Temeke District, expressing deep satisfaction with their implementation.

The project financed through substantial allocations from the government under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan include vital infrastructure such as schools, hospitals, and a modern police station.

The committee lauded the government’s commitment to transforming lives through tangible development.

“We are truly impressed with the quality, speed, and transparency in the execution of these projects,” said  Mtemvu during the inspection.

“This is a clear demonstration of President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Tanzanians. On behalf of the party, we extend our heartfelt appreciation to her for making these investments possible.”

Mtemvu also praised the collaboration between the government and the party, calling it a key factor behind the success of the projects.

“The teamwork we are witnessing between local government authorities and party leadership is commendable and sets a strong foundation for sustainable development.”

Regional Commissioner Albert Chalamila assured the committee that the projects will be completed on time, meet expected standards, and deliver value for money.

“We are closely monitoring every stage of implementation to ensure taxpayers’ money is spent wisely,” he said.

Addressing urban planning challenges,  Chalamila noted the region’s shift in construction strategy: “Given the shortage of land and growing population, we’ve decided that most public buildings  including schools and health centers will now be constructed as multi-storey structures to maximize available space.”

As part of the tour, the committee inspected the construction of a multi-storey classroom block at Mangaya Secondary School in Mbagala, the ongoing development of the Temeke District Hospital in Chamazi, and a state-of-the-art police station taking shape in Toangoma.

“These projects reflect not only infrastructural progress but also the government’s responsiveness to the needs of its people,” added Mtemvu.

“We urge the local communities to take ownership of these facilities once completed and ensure they are protected and well utilized.”

The visit was part of the committee’s ongoing efforts to monitor development progress and strengthen accountability in public service delivery across Dar es Salaam.
