MP Mavunde donates bricks and cement to boost Dodoma projects

 In a bold move to accelerate grassroots development, the Member of Parliament for Dodoma Urban and Chairperson of the Constituency Development Fund Committee, Anthony Mavunde, has donated 41,000 bricks and 102 tons of cement to all 41 wards in the city.

The construction materials are intended to support community-driven projects in education and healthcare infrastructure, reinforcing efforts to uplift local living standards.

“The Constituency Development Fund prioritizes key sectors such as education, health, and economic empowerment,” said  Mavunde during the official handover. 

“Today, we are providing bricks and cement to every ward in Dodoma Urban as part of our commitment to support projects initiated by the citizens themselves.”he added

He also noted that the Dodoma City Council has allocated TSh 6 billion to back community-led development projects across all wards.

 “President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan has made remarkable strides in transforming Dodoma,” he said. “It is our duty to support and sustain this momentum with dedication and pride.”he added

The event drew praise from key local leaders. Dodoma District Commissioner Jabir Shekimweri and CCM District Chairperson Mr. Charles Mamba applauded the initiative, emphasizing its impact in strengthening education and health services across the city. They said the materials would go a long way in bringing essential services closer to the people.

Providing an update on the Constituency Development Fund, Fund Coordinator Ms. Debora Muwinje said the Dodoma Urban Constituency receives an annual budget of TSh 93 million to drive local development. These funds were used to procure the donated materials.

She also commended Mavunde for personally contributing an additional 1,000 bags of cement to expand the reach of the initiative and ensure more communities benefit.
