Water cut scheduled in Bagamoyo and Ilala

The Dar es Salaam Water and Sewerage Authority (DAWASA) wishes to inform its valued customers in Bagamoyo and Ilala that there will be a temporary water service interruption on Friday, May 2, 2025, due to essential upgrades to the water infrastructure system.

The interruption will take place from 3:00 AM to 11:00 AM, lasting approximately eight hours. This planned maintenance is part of DAWASA’s ongoing efforts to enhance water distribution and ensure long-term service reliability for its customers.

The areas expected to be affected by the service disruption include:Bagamoyo District: Mapinga, Mabwepande, Bunju, Tegeta, Mbweni, Boko, Kunduchi, Salasala, Goba, Madale, Mbopo, Mivumoni, and Kawe.

Ilala District and Surrounding Areas: Lugalo, Makongo, Chuo Kikuu (UDSM), Mwenge, Kijitonyama, Mikocheni, Msasani, Oysterbay, Masaki, Mwananyamala, Kinondoni, Magomeni, Kigogo, Chang'ombe, Keko, Kurasini, Kigamboni, Julius Nyerere International Airport, Kiwalani, Buguruni, Vingunguti, and central Ilala.

DAWASA urges all residents, businesses, and institutions in the listed areas to store sufficient water in advance and take necessary precautions to manage during the hours of the outage.

The Authority reassures the public that its technical teams will be working diligently to complete the infrastructure improvements as quickly as possible. Efforts will be made to restore water supply promptly once the work is completed.

This upgrade is part of DAWASA’s broader strategy to modernize the city’s water systems, reduce service interruptions, and meet the growing demand for clean and reliable water in Dar es Salaam and surrounding regions.
