NMB Bank’s Same branch has once again demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility by donating writing materials to Form Six students who are set to begin their national examinations next week.

The donation event took place at Same Secondary School grounds, where bank representatives officially handed over the supplies to the school administration and some of the students.

The donation included a variety of essential items such as pens, rulers, erasers, and drawing pencils. The aim of the support is to ensure that students are well-prepared for their final Form Six exams a critical step toward higher education. The bank emphasized its belief that education is the key to community development.

Speaking during the event, NMB Same Branch Manager, Mr. Saad Masawila, said the bank has long been at the forefront of supporting the education sector, and this initiative is part of their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

“We believe that when students are provided with a conducive learning and exam environment, they perform better and ultimately contribute to the development of their communities,” said Masawila.

The headmaster of Same Secondary School, Mr. Mbuki A. Mbuki, expressed his gratitude to NMB Bank, stating that the support came at a perfect time.

He noted that many public schools often struggle to provide adequate learning materials, especially during exam periods, and that this donation has significantly eased that burden.

The students who received the supplies expressed their happiness and appreciation to NMB Bank. One of the students, Majaba Mayuma, mentioned that the donation had boosted their morale and motivated them to excel in their exams.

“We feel valued and supported. We promise to do our best to show that this support has not gone to waste,” said Amina.

At the conclusion of the event, school and community leaders urged the bank to continue its spirit of support not only for Form Six students but also across other educational levels.

They also called upon the broader community to follow NMB’s example and work together to uplift the education sector in the country.

In addition to the exam materials, NMB Bank announced plans to explore the possibility of launching special financial literacy programs for students to help them build knowledge on financial matters and self-reliance.

Mr. Masawila noted that financial education is crucial for young people, especially as they transition from secondary education to independent living.

NMB Bank also reaffirmed its commitment to partnering with other stakeholders in the education sector to ensure students have a supportive learning environment that enables them to achieve their dreams.

This forms part of the bank’s long-term plan to support social development through investment in key sectors such as education, health, and entrepreneurship.

In a joint message from teachers, parents, and students, they thanked NMB Bank for being a model institution that prioritizes educational development.

They emphasized that this support will not only impact the current exams but will also leave a lasting legacy of hope for future generations.
