 By Flora Mkoloma

Following their return to the top of the table, Simba Queens head coach Mussa Mgosi has reaffirmed the team’s primary goal this season: to reclaim the Tanzania Women's Premier League championship.

On yesterday, Simba Queens secured a thrilling 4-3 victory over rivals JKT Queens in a tightly contested league match played at the Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking after the match, Mgosi expressed his satisfaction with the result but stressed that the team is not getting carried away.

He said their focus is now on maintaining consistency and improving ahead of future fixtures.

“This game is behind us. Although we won, there were still mistakes. We’re heading back to training to correct those issues and prepare for the upcoming matches,” said Mgosi.

He added that the victory is a boost not only for the players but also for the fans, whose passionate support continues to inspire the squad.

“Our supporters have been incredible. Their energy drives us, and we ask them to keep standing by the team,” he said.

The win sees Simba Queens climb to the top of the league with 40 points, just ahead of JKT Queens, who remain on 38 points. Both teams have played 15 matches.
