Following a convincing 3-0 victory over Namungo FC, Young Africans SC (Yanga) head coach Miloud Hamdi has now turned his full attention to the CRDB Federation Cup semifinal against JKT Tanzania. The high stakes encounter is scheduled for May 18 at Mkwakwani Stadium in Tanga.

Coach Hamdi, who has been steadily shaping the team since his appointment, expressed satisfaction with his squad’s performance but made it clear that the focus now is on securing a spot in the final.

“The win against Namungo was important, not just for the points but for our momentum. Now, all our energy is directed toward the semifinal. It’s a key match, and we’re preparing thoroughly to ensure we reach the final,” Hamdi said after the game.

Yanga is still in the race for a domestic double, with two Premier League fixtures remaining against Tanzania Prisons and Dodoma Jiji.

Hamdi emphasized that finishing the season strongly both in the league and the cup is a top priority.

“We’re approaching each of the remaining matches with determination. Our goal is to win them all and close the season on a high. The players are physically and mentally ready for the challenge ahead,” he added.

The coach also praised the individual performances of several key players who have stepped up in recent weeks, singling out midfielder Stephane Aziz Ki, winger Kibwana Shomari, and striker Kennedy Musonda for their impressive form.

“I’m very pleased with the attitude and form of the players. Aziz Ki, Kibwana, and Musonda have shown leadership on the pitch, and their contributions will be vital in these decisive games,” said Hamdi.

With strong squad depth and rising confidence, Yanga fans are hopeful their team will overcome JKT Tanzania and progress to the Federation Cup final bringing them one step closer to lifting another major trophy this season.
