Tanzanians have been called upon to show their support and pray for the national football team, Kilimanjaro Stars, as they strive to clinch the prestigious Mapinduzi Cup.
The tournament kicks off on January 3 in Pemba, Zanzibar.
Kilimanjaro Stars will face Burkina Faso in their opening match, scheduled for January 4 in Pemba.
Speaking recently, the team’s Head Coach, Ahmad Ally, expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and potential to deliver positive results.
“We have prepared thoroughly and are determined to achieve our objectives in this tournament,” said Ally.
He acknowledged the high level of competition expected but remained resolute in his team’s capability. “We are aware of the challenges ahead.
Every team will be bringing their best to secure results, but we are ready to fight for success,” he added.
In the meantime, the Zanzibar team will kick off the tournament with a match against Burundi on January 2 in Pemba.
