Simba SC has successfully advanced to the quarterfinals of the CRDB Federation Cup. The club secured a 2-1 victory over Bigman in the Round of 16 match, played today, March 27, 2025, at the KMC Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
In the 16th minute, Simba took the lead with a goal from Joshua Mutale.In the 31st minute, Simba doubled their advantage with a penalty converted by Leonal Ateba.
Bigman responded in the 45th minute with a goal from Joseph Henock, narrowing the gap to 2-1.At halftime, both teams went to the break with Simba leading 2-1.
The second half saw no further goals, and after 90 minutes, Simba held onto their 2-1 lead.
As the final whistle blew, Simba had secured the win and a place in the quarterfinals. Joshua Mutale was named the Player of the Match for his excellent performance.
Simba now joins JKT Tanzania, Singida Black Stars, Mbeya City, and Stand United in the quarterfinals.
The tournament will continue tomorrow in Tabora, where Kagera Sugar will face off against Tabora in the Round of 16, with the match scheduled to take place at the Ali Hassan Mwinyi Stadium in Tabora.
Two other matches are set for March 29, 2025: Yanga will play against Songea United at the KMC Complex Stadium in Dar es Salaam, while Mashajuu will take on Pamba Jiji at the Lake Tanganyika Stadium in Kigoma.
