The Vocational Education and Training Authority (VETA) has sponsored short-term training for 3,000 women in Dodoma, aiming to equip them with essential skills for employment and entrepreneurship. The training will be conducted at the VETA Dodoma Institute.

Speaking at the launch ceremony on March 24, 2025, Dodoma Regional Commissioner,  Rosemary Senyamule, commended VETA’s Director General, CPA Anthony Kasore, for supporting the initiative through the Wanawake na Samia group.

Senyamule highlighted the importance of vocational training, noting that many women lack the necessary skills to secure jobs or start their own businesses.

“Dodoma is now a tourism and administrative hub, attracting visitors from across the country and beyond. To provide world-class services, we must equip our people with the right skills, and training like this is key to achieving that,” she stated.

The Chairperson of Wanawake na Samia in Dodoma, Ms. Fatuma Madidi, applauded VETA and the leadership of VETA Dodoma for making the program possible.

“When you educate a woman, you uplift an entire community. We are committed to making the most of this opportunity and learning with dedication,” she said.

VETA’s Director General, CPA Anthony Kasore, reaffirmed the institution’s commitment to fully funding the training, expressing confidence that the skills acquired will empower women to enhance their productivity and improve their livelihoods.
