Zanzibar President and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Dr. Hussein Mwinyi, has extended a special gesture of support to Simba Sports Club by covering all costs associated with the use of the New Amaan Complex Stadium.
This move ensures that Simba can host the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup final without incurring venue expenses.
The highly anticipated match against Moroccan side RS Berkane is set to take place at 4:00 PM on May 25, 2025, at the Amaan Complex in Zanzibar.
In a statement released on May 22, 2025, by the Acting Director of Presidential Communications, Raqey Mohamed, President Mwinyi’s decision reflects his deep commitment to the development of sports and his personal support for Simba SC. The gesture also aims to motivate the team ahead of what is expected to be a historic encounter.
“The President’s decision underscores his passion for sports and is intended to inspire Simba SC to victory in this crucial final,” the statement said.
In addition to waiving the stadium usage fees, President Mwinyi has also taken responsibility for all logistical and preparatory costs related to the venue, ensuring that the facility is fully ready for the high-profile event.
