Ruling party CCM’s Central Committee Member, Prime Minister, and Member of Parliament for Ruangwa Constituency, Kassim Majaliwa, has declared that the district owes no debt to Her Excellency President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, thanks to the significant development progress achieved across various sectors during her tenure.
Speaking on Saturday, May 3, 2025, during a meeting with members of the CCM’s community councils in Ruangwa District held at Wonder Kids Pre and Primary School, Majaliwa commended the government’s efforts that have brought tangible benefits to the people.
He noted that from 2010 to the present, the number of health centers in the district has increased from two to twelve, significantly improving access to healthcare services.
“We used to have only 22 dispensaries, but now we have 35 and efforts are still ongoing,” he stated.
Highlighting progress in the education sector, the Prime Minister said the district has expanded the number of secondary schools from 16 to 30, a clear indication of the government's commitment to ensuring quality education for all.
Majaliwa also cited the ongoing implementation of the major Nyangao–Ruangwa–Nachingwea water project, which will benefit 34 villages in Ruangwa and 21 villages in Nachingwea. The project is expected to serve more than 128,000 residents.
In addition, he mentioned that the district is continuing with the construction of internal roads and is close to completing the major Nanganga–Ruangwa road project, which will further enhance connectivity and economic activity.
For his part, Ruangwa District Commissioner Hassan Ngoma praised the government for its dedication to various development initiatives in the district.
He listed several key projects, including road infrastructure, classroom construction, water supply, and new health service centers.
Ngoma used the opportunity to urge Ruangwa residents to continue supporting their government, which remains firmly committed to improving public services and social well-being.
